My study and practice of alternative energy healing fields has its roots in my background. After graduating from Nursing, I worked as a Registered Nurse with adult patients in the field of Neurology, as well as with children specializing in Neonatal care with premature babies.
While taking a break from nursing to raise my own children, I was able to observe the medical system from the outside. It soon became apparent to me that technology and pharmaceuticals are only a partial solution to preservation of our holistic health and well-being.
There had to be more – and so began my journey into the study of alternative healing modalities such as Reiki, Acutonics® and Theta Healing®.
Reiki is a non-invasive stress reduction and relaxation technique that uses the natural Universal energy to promote holistic healing. I soon discovered that I was able to help others using this technique. I devoted my time to its study and practice, and over time, I achieved Master /Teacher level in Usui Reiki. (Learn more about Reiki here.) I just loved the study of Reiki so much I continued with Karuna® Reiki and Karuna Holy Fire Reiki® achieving Master/Teacher level as well (If you want to learn more about it here is a link to a great Reiki Teacher she is someone I would recommend, this is her website.) I am no longer a member of the Canadian Reiki Association or a member of the International Reiki Membership Association as a Master/Teacher practitioner and currently not teaching.
During my practice of Reiki I found another modality that I felt came naturally to me, which is Acutonics®. (Learn more about Acutonics here.) Having 7 years of Royal Conservatory piano behind me, it felt natural to add this modality to my practice. Acutonics® is also a non-invasive treatment that uses strategically placed tuning forks on the body to move energy through meridian lines, much like acupuncture, but with sound and vibration.
I have completed 4 levels of Acutonics®; the Points & Meridians and Sedna classes. I am no longer working towards finishing this curriculum. I will still be a student practitioner though until I feel the need to go back to serious studies. (If you too are interested in learning about Acutonics, this is the teacher I would recommend: here is her website.)
While attending my Karuna® Reiki class, I had the opportunity to learn what it was like to have Theta Healing® work done on me. (Learn more about this modality here.) I then decided that this was my next field of Energy medicine that I would like to study. Theta Healing® is a modality based on belief work, working with the subconscious levels of the mind, which in turn affects the physical body. This modality intrigued me because of my background in Neurology. I have now completed Basic and Advanced, as well as Intuitive Anatomy and Manifesting & Abundance courses in Theta Healing®. (If you are looking for a great teacher, this is one I would recommend, this is her website here.)
I also have experience working in a pharmacy as well, so I understand that our emotional and physical well-being cannot be reduced to reliance on medical tests and pharmaceuticals. While the conventional Western medicine has its place in healing, quality nutrition, the balance of energies within us, and our beliefs have an equal role to play in maintaining of holistic health.
My passion is to inspire others to have self-empowerment through Reiki, Acutonics®, or Theta Healing®, to support others with their own growth and understanding, to help themselves and to help others. I have now raised my family, and I am in the position to give back to the community. I can now help others on their path to awareness of alternative healing and what it can do for them.
